Icing on the Cake - Kauai

Kristin's cakes are exquisite! I recommend her lilikoi flavored cake. We had a 2 tier cake. One was chocolate and the other was lilikoi. The presentation of the cake was SO BEAUTIFUL! She did exactly what I asked her to do. She can be found on Face Book where you can see photos of her cakes. She's easy to speak to and very professional.

I'm not a cake fan, but the Pave d'Amore wedding cake Icing on the Cake prepared for our Hawaiian wedding was spectacular! The most delicious cake I've ever tasted. The layers of coffee cream, genoise cake, and rich chocolate ganache complimented one another perfectly. We stopped in a few days after the wedding and enjoyed a delicious brownie and oatmeal raisin cookie. I cannot recommend this bakery enough!

We really enjoyed the cake that was provided by Icing on the Cake. In addition their storefront in Lihue also serves Blue Bottle Coffee! A fine establishment indeed.

We ordered cookies as wedding favors for our Kauai wedding. The cookies turned out delicious although there were several favors that had the icing smashed. The cookies still tasted good but I was a little disappointed for the price that almost 1/2 of the cookies had icing details that were imperfect to the naked ice and smeared. Great taste, cute cookies, but needs a little more attention to the details, especially for a wedding event.

our wedding cake was one of the best cakes I have ever tasted. The Lilikoi filling was very fresh and tasted wonderful. Beautiful job too!

Overall, we were satisfied with our wedding cake, but there were a few things that detracted from the experience. Sometimes Patrick, the baker's husband/business manager, took some time responding to our e-mails and at one point he seemed confused about which client we were and where the cake was being delivered. and he didn't seem particularly nice in our communications, considering we were about to spend a good deal of money on a cake. We chose the banana cake with chocolate ganache and cream cheese frosting for our wedding cake. My husband likes banana cake and I've made banana/chocolate/cream cheese cupcakes before so I knew the flavor combo would be a hit. On the day of the wedding, the icing and ganache were delicious, but the cake seemed a tad dry and dense. But that may have been because it was refrigerated to keep it from melting in Hawaii's usually warm temperatures. When we ate the leftovers later in the week, we warmed the cake in the microwave for 10 seconds and it was delicious. So ask them if you should take the cake out of the fridge before serving it. When I dropped off ribbon I wanted to be used on the cake, I met Andrea and she was a warm, wonderful woman, so I felt like we were in good hands. And she agreed to drive the cake up to the house and arrange the flowers herself on the wedding day because the florist couldn't deliver them in advance. I really appreciated that. Our only real quibble was with the price, which seemed quite high. I realize that the cost of living is much higher in Hawaii and anything wedding related is costly, but $450 seemed pretty steep for a wedding cake -- especially since the only decorations on the cake were fresh flowers and ribbon, both of which we bought ourselves and received no discount for providing. My mother used to decorate cakes, so I understand what is involved. I could justify the price if the baker had to make 200 roses by hand, but all she had to do was place some ribbon and flowers on the cake. All in all, it was a positive experience. The cake tasted good, Andrea seemed like a lovely woman and the company is well-regarded on the island, so I would recommend them.

We had a great experience with Andrea preparing for our wedding. I was planning the wedding from California and my e-mails/plans/changes, etc were all handled while they were opening the new store front in Kapaa. We come each year for vacation and will be enjoying the treats from their store now.

The cake was delicious. The copany even made a special flavor at our request [peanut butter cup] The decorations were beautiful and exactly what we asked for. My only comment about this company was that they didnt respond to my phone calls or emails on time, especially when our reception vendor needed a time for them to show up, it was difficult for me to gt a response. Other than that, this place it great and I would use them again

Since it's a small island, I've had the privilege of tasting quite a few of Icing on the Cake's cakes, cupcakes, etc. When my wedding came around, I knew they would be able to handle the job! The cake I ordered was simple, but beautiful (just what we wanted)! And it tasted delicious!
