It was a wonderful and accommodating A+ experience from start to finish. Let me start with a little bit of a background about my now husband and myself. We are both Type A personalities with extremely high expectations of ourselves, and we have equally as high expectations of others. We are also very particular in what we want (we were not interested in the cookie cutter wedding that was the only option at a number of the hotels) and are very much focused on attention to detail. Haiku Mill exceeded our expectations from our very first phone conversation with Sylvia the owner in regards to booking the venue, to saying our final good-byes to Stephanie our wedding coordinator at the end of the night after our wedding. The Haiku Mill was extremely professional from start to finish, and made planning our wedding from Canada completely hassel free. On the day of the wedding itself, Stephanie and her team had us at ease the entire time and really made the day that much more memorable and enjoyable. In our opinion, the Haiku Mill is without question the most beautiful wedding venue on all of Maui, and even though neither of us have yet to venture to all of the Hawaian islands, we wouldnt be surprised if it was the most beautiful throughout as well. Every single one of our guests were in complete awe with the beauty of the place. The owner Sylvia has painstaking recreated the Mill over the last number of years, utilizing many antiques from throughout Europe in the decor. Not a single detail has been overlooked or missed. It truly is an old world delight in the middle of paradise. Sylvia has impeccable taste and style which is showcased throughout the property. After considering a European destination wedding we found it difficult to find anything that rivalled the beauty and atmosphere of the Mill. All the vendors that were recommended truly share the vision of the Mill and were an absolute pleasure to work with. Special Thanks to: Anna Kim Photography - The pictures are beyond words you captured the wedding beautifully and were excellent with our guests, thank you. Maui Executive Catering - Jeff and his team dazzled the palates of our guests all evening, incredible food! Teresa Sena Designs- Nailed the aesthetic we were looking for, beautiful work only added to the ambience and natural beauty. Garnish Events - Wow! Who knew that signature drinks could be this delicious and inventive, wonderful service throughout the dinner. Thank you again to everyone that made our day so special. Vanessa and Elliot

I did not reap the benefit of getting much reviews about Haiku Mill and I had secured my wedding there as Allie, the coordinator at the time and now no longer there, was organizing certain weddings. You receive the red carpet to hook you; as the grounds are beautiful and for those that want something different than the beach wedding, it is appealing. However, once you\'re hooked: BRIDE BEWARE! They own you. They set unreasonable restrictions and are not flexible. Most of all, they do very, very cookie cutter service for HIGH COST. What is suppose to be lux is not except for the prices. The prices also are padded with hidden costs that are not disclosed to the consumer and do not expect to receive a fix cost as my experience was the costs kept rising as it approached the wedding date for the same item! They get a 20% commission on your entire bill so you get the conflict of interest. I found many discrepancies; and their attitude forced me to change the venue from Haiku Mill to Hui No\'eau, one month to the date! In the end, good overcomes arrogance and complacency as I had the most amazing wedding, more than it could have ever been at Haiku Mill, at Hui No\'eau. The staff were so friendly, the grounds AMAZING, and Bev Gannon, my caterer, ROCKED! After all the time to fix Haiku Mill\'s mistakes and pricing discrepancies, they refuse to return the deposit. I agree with TIffany\'s review as well and there are many others that did not have great experiences I am finding out only after the fact. Please do your research and BRIDE BEWARE. Aloha! \r\n

I'd like to start off by saying: If you're looking to have a magical wedding where your guests will be amazed and repeatedly remind you that "this is the best/most beautiful wedding I've ever been to!" have your wedding at the Haiku mill. HOWEVER: Please keep in mind: -The grounds are beyond belief. They do a wonderful job maintaining the site. They do a horrible job on the business side of things. -No matter how many times/how far in advance you ask for the final invoice to check numbers, you will not get one until the day of the wedding. Let it be known my mom (mother of the bride) was handed 4 invoices AT the wedding. None of them were correct. -Saying the final invoices were not correct is putting it mildly. Not only were the numbers all off, they didn't even have my name right. Which is sad and totally disrespectful, considering they had already collected about half of the total amount (over $15,000) from me by check. Hello, my name is on the check. -Since it's Maui, things are a bit more laid back. I get it. And can appreciate it. However, it's no excuse to be unprofessional. Especially when large amounts of money are involved. -They will try to charge you a "20% coordination fee" for all vendors booked. Even if they had NOTHING to do with the planning/booking of those vendors. -I can't even tell you how many calls/emails went unanswered. I planned the entire wedding myself. Which is fine. That's exactly what I wanted. The handful of emails I did get back were filled with questions which my previous emails had answered. Best of all, they then tried to charge me a "coordination fee" for all the vendors. Uhm...We'd all love to get paid not to work. But that's not the way life works. -In my case, they offered/basically said I had to use their wedding coordinator. Hence, they can control the 20% extra charge because they know which vendors you are using and the costs associated. She mysteriously quit/was fired (I was told so many stories by so many different people I have no idea what the real one is) 2 weeks before my wedding. When we showed up for rehearsal, I was introduced to the "replacement". Let it also be noted she did a fine job, but you would think I would have been notified there was going to be a new coordinator before I showed up? -Paying the final bill was the last nightmare. And I won't even begin to tell the story as it's really long and you're probably already bored by now. Just know that it included my mom in tears at some point and a new coordinator (I'd put money on the fact that she won't last more than a month), who I never met and knew nothing about the business shinanigans they run there, threatening to turn us into collections. Phew. With all that being said: Would I recommend this venue to you? Yes. With caution. Extreme caution. Would I recommend this venue to my friends? Sadly, no. I have a gf getting married in Maui next year and I recommended the Olowalu Plantation House (our 2nd choice) instead. It's also beautiful beyond belief and they run a professional business. One last thing: My husband runs a successful business in Southern California. Thank you Haiku Mill for reminding us why we work so hard to keep things in order and treat all of our customers with professionalism and respect. I can guarantee none of our customers will ever write a review like this about us.

Sylvia, the owner and Allie, the on-site coordinator are wonderful people to work with. They are accommodating, helpful and have inside tips to keeping you within your budget. Allie's motto for our wedding day was for us, our family and our friends to sit back relax and have fun. She did a great job of organizing and taking care of the details that day. They truly share the Aloha spirit! It's hard to believe, but the venue truly is exactly what you see in the pictures. It's a magical and romantic venue that draws you in! Sylvia has also done a fantastic job decorating the venue in a very classic French antique style. The venue is a photographers dream and you will walk away with gorgeous photos!

If you want the most beautiful place for you reception ths is the place! Amazing is just one of many words your guest will use when they arrive. The Haiku Sugar Mill is unlike any other venue you could have. It will give you that unique place that you are looking for in making your wedding special and Breath taking. We married on the beach in the morning and had our reception at the mill in the evening due to the driving distance from lahinana. We had shuttles take our 80 guest up to haiku where the mill is located and it was perfect. I can't tell you how much I still here from our guest "the setting was Amazing what a beatiful place you guys pick" I can't imagine having not used it. The owner sylvia showed up and introducede her self to us and it was a nice personal touch.. you will have no regrets using this place!
