Planning a destination wedding can be quite stressful. You're never too sure what you're getting yourself into. Tina made it seem so simple. She was not only taking care of the catering, but the coordination along the way. If there was anything at all I was forgetting or had a hard time finding (like a venue, or flowers, or officient) she had multiple recommendations for me. It was beyond fantastic! On the actual wedding day... Tina was my sanity! When everyone and everything else around me was going crazy, she was there taking care of me, making sure I could enjoy as much of the day as possible. Tina and her team went above and beyond anything I could have asked for. The little things like setting aside a plate of goodies from cocktail hour for my hubby and I so that we could also try the food when we got back from taking pictures. As for the food... I had a number of guests come to me afterwards saying that it's the best food they had while on the island. It was THAT good. Food for the Soul - Flawless food, impeccable service and incredible value. If you are planning a wedding in Maui, call Food for the Soul first! You won't regret it. They will help you make your wedding even better than you could have dreamed it yourself! :D

You can't go wrong with this talented and wonderful couple. I arranged a private catered dinner to surprise and propose to my (now) fiancee. I worked with Tina via email and phone to set up something unique. We worked out a menu with some special requests related to moments my fiancee and I have had. Everything was to be arranged so we could just show up and have it all taken care of. Rob and two assistants had everything ready when we arrived. The food was exceptional. Rob really knows how to prepare a special meal. We had multiple small courses (per my request). My fiancee and I agreed that the Fillet Mignon was the best we had ever had- perfect medium rare, tender and tasty. The rest of the meal (a mix of Thai and local 'flair') was also very good. These are very nice people- both are easy to work with, and Rob was a pleasure to have as a caterer at the meal. All of the service was friendly and attentive.

On a personal recommendation, Catie and I hired Food For The Soul for our wedding on 25 Oct 2011. From the very start, unlike all other catering venders that we'd been potentially interested in, Tina immediately engaged with us, answering questions very promptly and providing carefully thought out advice. Indeed, we were so pleased and reassured, that, having been very disappointed with the work of our co-ordinator and getting somewhat frustrated, we asked Tina to step into that role too. Tina was very careful about not exceeding our budget, making suggestions as she went and gaining approval at each stage so we never felt anything was out of control. Most importantly...and unlike our original co-ordinator - she listened very carefully to what style we were after and did not push us into how she wanted it or her own vision; rather she ensured we did have the wedding and wedding breakfast we wanted. The result was an outstanding, elegant and wonderful occasion with food and service that was simply divine with Tina taking care of everything from dealing with the flower vendor to the lighting/decorations. All the guests commented on how slick but friendly her staff were and how amazing the day was. In particular, all noted the exceptionally high quality of the delicious food - noting a number of the guests have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the world. Overall: give Food For The Soul a chance - talk to Tina - then make your own mind up but I promise you will not be disappointed!! And a very big thank you to Tina and all her team for making our day "ours" and so very special!!

With a recommendation from our Wedding Coordinator, we chose Food For The Soul to cater our special day. For our needs we decided on a buffet style service. The presentation, food, and staff are of the highest quality. Before the event, Tina took care of every detail and request in a very timely manor. The friendly staff added to the warm, humorous atmosphere of the event. The food was our best meal of the week! Our guests are still raving about the wasabi mashed potatoes!

Food For The Soul was the best thing that happened to our wedding! Tina was an absolute joy to work with over the nine months it took to plan my wedding. She was available when I had questions or concerns and she was patient and supportive, even during my very high levels of stress. She went beyond the duties of a caterer and she became the unofficial planner. She provided recommendations for other vendors, gave me honest feedback about concerns, and she single-handedly made my wedding day the most stress-free day. I am amazed that she took it upon herself to recognize what needed to be done and she did it! Tina and her staff were kind, supportive, and attentive. The freshened up the food stations, removed discarded items, and were very service oriented without us really noticing they were even there. Do yourself a favor and hire Food For The Soul and take comfort in knowing that Tina and her crew are amazing professionals who will treat your wedding as the beautiful event that you had planned. She will take away any stress and work and create a timeless and beautiful event!

Tina was fabulous and her staff was wonderful! They made my entire day run smoothly. She is not only a caterer, but acted also as the wedding coordinator. Her entire staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make my Maui wedding a huge success. I keep looking back on that day and only wish I could do it all again, it is by far the best night of my life! On top of having a wonderful staff, my whole wedding was beautiful! When I got to the ceremony site everything was set up and ready to go. Chairs, arch, tables, bar, ottomans, and lights...I couldn't believe it looked exactly like I imagined it for the last year. The best part was they made me feel like my whole job was to be the bride :)! I could go on and on about the food! We served the luau buffet and cupcakes for desserts. Days after my wedding I had people telling me how much they loved the food! Many people have said that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I owe a huge part of this to Tina. She helped me through the entire process from start to finish. I knew she was perfect when after calling around to a few places I finally found someone who made me feel comfortable, relaxed and excited about my wedding!

Food for the Soul Catering was one of the best choices I made when planning my wedding. Doing a destination wedding and not having a wedding "coordinator" made it a little stressful when deciding on vendors. Food for the Soul was at least 3 vendors rolled into one. A MUST if you're doing a destination wedding. Not only was the food taken care of, so was all of the event rentals and event-day coordination. Tina was helpful from start to finish of my planning and was always available to give advice, answer questions or help with budgeting. Tina WAS my wedding coordinator and I couldn't be more grateful. I was thrown off guard on my wedding day a little. I am a planner by nature and had it in my mind that I would be available to help get my place cards and favors in place, signs hung, guest book set out and all those other little details that happen the day-of. But wait, I'm closed in a room getting ready and can't be out there! Ah! Even though I did not have those things organized well for Tina, she, without me even knowing, got everything set up perfectly and I never even thought about it all day. It was a like an angel was there taking care of me. On top of everything else, when all the guests had arrived and I was ready to walk down the aisle, there was Tina, directing the whole procession. It was something I wasn't expecting and is just one more way she went above and beyond what any other caterer would do. Again, I am beyond grateful. As for the food, AMAZING! Everything was so delicious and I bet that every person at the wedding complimented my husband and I for choosing such a great caterer. The staff was amazing as well. Everything went off without a hitch which allowed me to have an amazing wedding. It was the best day of my life and a lot of the event's success should be credited to Tina and her team. Last but certainly not least, I did a lot of research before deciding on Food for the Soul and compared pricing on at least 6 different catering options. Food for the Soul by far offered the MOST and cost the LEAST. That is not an exaggeration. One thing that Tina will tell you up front is that she doesn't mark up the pricing on her event rentals and this is 100% true. I compared her prices directly with the event rental companies and there was no difference. I really don't see why anyone would choose another catering company, honestly. THANK YOU Tina & Food for the Soul!!!

My wife Emily and I were just recently married in Maui and hired Tina from Food For The Soul. We could not have been happier. Hiring a caterer can be difficult for a destination wedding as you can't taste the food unless you take a trip to Maui and who can afford that and a wedding? We looked at several different options and all seemed like a hassle to work with except for Tina. She was incredibly accomodating, and after tasting the food she should charge twice as much. We were on a limited budget as we were paying for the wedding ourselves and her pricing was great. My wife and I had been to Maui 4 times previously. We have been to all the great restaurants for seafood and I have had the mahi mahi from all of them. Tina's macadamia mahi was the best I have ever had. No restaurant is even close. If you read this review and don't select it as one of your food choices your guests will miss out on the best mahi on the island and could possibly be angry at you later if they ever taste it. The filet was great as well and cooked to perfection. Our wedding and food was perfect. Our friends and family really like to get after it when it comes to the bar and the staff and bartenders kept up without a problem. We found that choosing the caterer was a difficult decision and required some serious trust. You can look at the photographers portfolio, pictures of the wedding site but you can't taste the food until the big day. Our hope is that you read this review and hire Tina so that the food and drinks for your wedding can be as easy and amazing as ours was.

Our wedding in Maui was a destination wedding and from the very beginning we had an absolutely wonderful experience with Food for the Soul. Tina was a tremendous blessing. Throughout the entire process she was easy to work with, very straightforward (which was much appreciated for budgeting purposes), and incredibly accommodating. There wasn't anything that I asked for that Tina wasn't able to make happen. In my planning process, I learned that most vendors are on "island time", which meant that sometimes I wouldn't get a response to an emaik or a call back right away. Not Food for the Soul though! Tina ALWAYS promptly and throughly responded to any questions I had...which is so important when you're planning from afar. Also, my mom was very involved in the planning process and Tina was always willing to speak with my mom about any questions that my mom had...even if I already had the answer from Tina and my mom wanted to just confirm it. Tina was incredibly patient in balancing the different mother/daughter dynamics of a wedding too. As for the food, Rob does a fantastic job! We received so many compliments from our guests and we were very pleased with the food ourselves. Rob is also a wizard with presentation. And the cake - it was the best wedding cake I have ever had! The lilikoi filling was absolutely delicious. We had a full bar at our wedding and the servers (supplied by FFTS) were wonderful and extremely attentive. They even customized a drink for us so that the color of the drink (teal) matched the wedding colors. The guests loved that detail. One of the best things about FFTS is that your experience will be stress free. Throughout the wedding planning, I never once felt stressed out about anything regarding the catering. To the contrary, Rob and Tina were so on top of things that the catering was the "easy" part of the wedding process...which, from what I understand, can often times be very stressful with other caterers. I truly have only good things to say about Food for the Soul. They are a wonderful company to work with and you will be incredibly happy with the food and service that they provide. I highly recommend them.

I was nervous when looking for caterers for my wedding as I'd never hired a caterer before in my life. Therefore I was exceptionally meticulous when interviewing potential caterers. I wanted someone that was extremely detail oriented, had fabulous food, great presentation, communicative throughout the process, and budget-friendly. A tall order, yes- but I found all of this (and much more!) with Food For The Soul. I can't begin to explain how wonderful the owners of this company are. It is so obvious that they truly love what they do and go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. The communication with Tina was unprecedented. She answered all (my millions of) questions promptly and walked me through the process so that I felt very comfortable. She made sure every aspect of the catering was covered and pointed out many things that I would have never even thought of. Because I lived in NC, I wasn't able to do a tasting prior to the wedding- but this was not an issue. All of my guests said that it was the BEST food they'd ever had (wedding or not). From the cocktail hors d'oeuvres, to the salad, the the main course- everything was simply delicious! They even set aside a special package of food for my husband and I because we were too busy taking pictures to eat during cocktail hour. And the bar service was amazing! Their fresh-juice Mai Tais are certainly something to write home about! I still dream of them actually. From setup, to breakdown- everything was flawless. They didn't need any direction from me on the day of our wedding and they happily implemented a few last minute 'special requests'. Another thing that sets this company apart from the rest is table/chair/linen rentals are included in the price. Since I had my wedding at a private estate, this meant that I did not have to hire (yet another) vendor. I was also able to order our scrumptious wedding cake through them. All of this, and their prices were amazing! Tina was able to come up with some creative ideas to keep us within budget. No other caterer on the island could match them on price and at first I thought that it was too good to be true. But now that the wedding is over, I do know that all of this is possible for a great price. I cannot sing enough praises for this company. I honestly feel that everything was perfectly executed and our wedding was that much more special because Food For The Soul was there.
