Bernadette (Bernie) worked with the bride and mother of the bride prior to coming to Maui. Her professionalism was exceptional, and her suggestions/comments were superior when we arrived prior to the wedding. She was flexible and eager to work with us for whatever our needs were.

My husband and I decided that a wedding planner would be essential for our destination wedding. We were referred to Jacqueline Ishikawa of a White Orchid Wedding, Inc. by our aunt in Maui and it was the best decision ever. We started the planning process over a year in advance and started with a visit to Maui to meet with Jackie and choose a wedding venue. Jackie was in tune with my ideas and thoughts...even though I frequently changed my mind about everything. Her patience and flexibility to keep up with my phone calls, and emails were outstanding. As brides, we all think that we can do things on our own but having the ease of someone taking care of the logistics as you have your ideas is unbeatable. There are a lot of planning services on the island of Maui but the classy service that White Orchid provides you with is simply put, amazing. From the minute you show interest in working with them up to the end of wedding day will seriously be a breeze. It's worth the additional costs, especially if you are a destination bride. I would highly recommend working with A White Orchid Wedding, Inc. for your special day. They will make your wedding the best wedding that anyone has ever been to.

I got married on 3/28/11 at the White Orchid Beach House and I had Barb Gerraty as my planner. Barb always responded to my emails within the same day and she was really personable. I could not have asked for a better planner! Her attention to detail and suggestions for vendors were greatly appreciated. I was literally stress-free the entire time.. Definitely ask for Barb if you go with WOW. Also, the 20% coordination fee they charge is WORTH EVERY PENNY! My wedding turned out absolutely perfect and I have no one to thank but Barb and the wonderful group of vendors. Also, the White Orchid Beach House is absolutely gorgeous. I had only seen pictures online so I was a little nervous....but when I arrived, it took my breath away. I am still getting emails from guests saying how beautiful the experience was. We went with the scrim canopies for the reception tables, which I would highly recommend. It gives a romantic ambiance and it is definitely worth the money. Our caterer (Cafe O'Lei), photographer (Tad Craig) , onsite coordinator (Bernie), and florist (Teresa Sena) were all excellent. I would recommend WOW to anyone who is looking to get married on the island of Maui.

Eh....I understand they have a cookie cutter formula that allows them to be profitable, but there was really no flexibility in terms of planning and all the creative elements were provided by us. Flowers that we paid for were missing the day of, when we asked for photographers they only had a handful which we then had to find on our own, and our music options were limited. The venue and food were good but this was really about it. Would not recommend to my friends. No sour grapes, but just thought people should know both sides.

To all the brides out there planning to have a Maui wedding, get this company to plan your wedding, specifically get Jackie as your wedding coordinator! She is the BEST ever! She will take care of you like your bestfriend would take care of you and the staff are super nice and helpful! Here's my story: as hard as it was for me, I did not have any choice but to move my wedding date to the next day due to a big brush fire that happened near the Maalaeia harbor that basically closed the road for hours (till midnight). There is only one way in and one way out so we were doomed because my groom, now husband, and most of our guests were on the other side (lahaina side) and I was on the Makena side. Jackie took care of EVERYTHING! We were basically stranded on the other side of the island. Her company gave us a complimentary dinner at Cafe O'Lei because we were starving. Jackie even offered her house if we need a place to stay in for the night..the staff was very comforting and very positive about the whole thing. In the end, my wedding happened the next day, the only thing that changed was the date, everything stayed as planned, because Jackie was that good she was able to talk to all the vendors asap without us incurring add'l charges.

Although I did most of the planning myself, I needed someone to help coordinate the day of the wedding. My wedding coordinator was great with keeping me calm and making sure everything went right that day! They also provided us with flowers for the reception area, which was a little pricey, but beautiful! I would totally recommend this company as long as you have the money to pay for it. :-)

My husband and I live in California and both work full-time; so for us to plan a destination wedding on the island of Maui and in 10 months seemed stressful and almost unreachable. However, after speaking with several wedding planners, I felt the most comfortable with White Orchid Wedding's friendly and detail-oriented professionalism. Our wedding planner, Bernie Freitas gave us a free consultation with price listing and kept in contact with us via e-mail and by phone from the first day to the final day, which eliminated the prewedding planning stress. Bernie supported and assisted us in every way possible to work within our budget, needs, and wants for the Big Day. We are still extremely happy with how she made our vision come true! Bernie was able to combine the themes: classic romance and island chill, while still keeping it within our budget. Bernie made our dreams come alive and our guests had the BEST time ever! Our friends to this day, tell us that our wedding is the most entertaining, relaxing, and fun wedding they have attended! Thank you, Bernie for all your support and dedication to our wedding, you have truly made it THE MOST MEMORABLE DAY of our lives!

We had a wonderful experience with A White Orchid Wedding. We worked directly with Steven, and he was fantastic. I told him wanted we wanted, and everything came off without a hitch. Couldn't have asked for a smoother ceremony and overall experience. He even made sure to recommend a hair stylist that had experience working with very naturally curly hair like mine. I was nervous planning a destination wedding, but everything turned out perfectly. Steven and A White Orchid Wedding helped make it the happiest day of my life (and honestly so unstressful).

I would reccomend this company, there were a few things missing on the day of my wedding, missing flowers, wrong flowers in my bouquet, and a few other minor mishaps, but overall I was really happy with their services, and I couldn't have planned my wedding without their knowledge of the island, and different vendors

A White Orchid Wedding is overall a great company. We had found them online a good while before starting to plan our wedding. When we finally called them to reserve our date with them, there was somebody already interested in our venue for that same date. Thankfully, that all fell through, and we were able to put our deposit down. Our wedding planner was Kelly, but I don't think she is with AWOW anymore. She was very helpful in answering all of our questions about the package, and she allowed us to customize it to meet our desires. There were a couple of minor issues in dealing with Kelly, but we think it was because she was doing so many weddings. (Destination weddings are booked all week long, not just on the weekends.) The staff made our wedding day absolutely perfect. If it wasn't for AWOW's knowledge of the island's vendors, we wouldn't have had the wedding of our dreams. We all loved our wedding at the White Orchid Beach House. Our only regret is that we weren't put in touch with the guy that assists wedding parties with tours and such. We actually met him on our wedding day, while he waited on us tirelessly. I think his name was Roger (sorry, it's been so long). He was awesome.
